Collaboration with Itochu Enex Home Life to gradually expand
2026.3.5
Koukandekirukun, Inc., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masaru Kurihara; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") began offering its first service in the Shikoku area on March 1, 2026.
This initiative was made possible through collaboration with Itochu Enex residential equipment Life Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kyosuke Wakamatsu; hereinafter "Itochu Enex Home Life"), which has entered into a capital and business alliance with us and is jointly developing "Replaform®," an e-commerce platform that includes the installation of housing equipment. Engineers from Itochu Enex Home Life's Matsuyama sales office will handle the installation as our outsourcing partner. The launch of this service in Shikoku marks the first step in a model in which orders received from the "Koukandekirukun" Service site (Japanese only) are handled in cooperation with local installation systems.
■Background to expansion into Shikoku: Structural shift to a stock-based market
The housing market is not shrinking, but is undergoing a structural transformation. In Shikoku, while the number of households and housing stock remain stable, the number of new housing starts is declining, and the market's focus is shifting from new construction to the renewal of existing housing facilities.
residential equipment such as water heaters, gas stoves, and range hoods are part of the infrastructure of daily life that necessarily needs to be replaced depending on the length of time a home is occupied. Against the backdrop of this structural change, we are developing an online, complete EC with installation as a new distribution model suited to the stock-based market.
The current expansion into Shikoku is an effort to implement a service model that responds to this structural transformation in collaboration with the local construction system.
■ Collaboration system based on personnel exchange and on-site response capabilities by KOUKANSHI
We are working to KOUKANSHI who can handle multiple residential equipment and are responsible for everything from on-site judgment to construction quality.
The response to residential equipment replacement work varies greatly depending on the installation environment, and it is an area that requires on-site judgment that cannot be handled by manuals or automation alone. We position these specialized technicians as "Neo Blue Workers," on-site specialists who will be reevaluated in the age of AI. This is because, while digitalization is progressing, human technical ability is the source of value in residential equipment field, where judgment tailored to individual environments and manual work are essential.
To launch this service, engineers at Itochu Enex Home Life's Matsuyama Sales Office will undergo practical training at Residential Equipment Replacement Skills Academy and will carry out construction work in accordance with our construction quality standards.
As we expand into the Shikoku area in the future, we plan to continue to use Residential Equipment Replacement Skills Academy to conduct personnel exchanges and skills training, building stable construction systems in each region and standardizing service quality.
